Brianna Cowan – Your Voice for Nevada State Assembly District 39

Brianna Cowan is a Navy veteran, former high school teacher, and proud Douglas County resident running to represent Nevada State Assembly District 39, encompassing Douglas and portions of Lyon Counties. Rooted in the values of rural Nevada—faith, family, and freedom—she is committed to serving the self-reliant, hardworking people who define this region.

Brianna served nearly seven years in the U.S. Navy during the Global War on Terrorism as a nuclear reactor operator, contributing to national security and gaining expertise in reliable energy systems vital for Nevada’s rural economies. Before enlisting, she taught high school in Oregon, where she saw education’s power to shape futures, fueling her dedication to school choice and parental empowerment. After her honorable discharge, Brianna and her family settled in Douglas County, drawn to its rugged landscapes, close-knit communities, and patriotic spirit.

With three bachelor’s degrees (Secondary Education, Criminal Justice, and Political Science) and a master’s in public policy from the Thunderbird School of Global Management, Brianna is currently a PhD candidate studying the erosion of constitutional rights post-9/11. Her research strengthens her resolve to protect the freedoms that define Nevada. In the Assembly, she will champion policies to unleash local businesses through deregulation, advance innovative education reforms, and ensure public safety by supporting law enforcement and Second Amendment rights.

Brianna’s vision is a Nevada where government steps aside, allowing families and communities to thrive. She is dedicated to preserving the state’s promise of independence and prosperity for all.
